This commitment will include:
- regularly attending appointments
- practising using the tools which I will provide
- to complete any homework
All of the above are essential to get the maximum benefit from sessions and will reduce the amount of time therapy takes.

- Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills: Provides basic understanding and practical skills in counselling.

- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling: Equips individuals with advanced counselling skills and theoretical knowledge, often requiring supervised practice hours.
- Diploma in supervision (Integrative): Equips experienced counsellors with advanced skills and knowledge to provide effective supervision and support to the helping professions, ensuring ethical practice and professional development within the field.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Theology and Philosophy:
Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), demonstrating a commitment to ethical standards, continuous professional development, and the highest quality of care for clients.
Is Counselling Right for You?
Deciding if counselling is right for you involves considering your specific needs, and readiness to seek support. Counselling offers a safe space to address challenges like stress, anxiety, and relationship issues, providing, emotional healing, guidance and tools for personal growth. If you feel overwhelmed or unsure, counseling can boost confidence and help navigate life’s complexities. It’s important to assess your willingness to invest in your well-being and embrace the counseling process.
Will I Feel Judged or Criticized During Counselling?
During counselling, you should not feel judged or criticized. A fundamental aspect of counselling is providing a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of condemnation. Counsellors are trained to be empathetic, understanding, and supportive, and their primary goal is to help you work through your challenges constructively and compassionately. If you ever feel judged or criticized, it’s essential to communicate this to me so that I can address your concerns and ensure that you feel respected and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
How Long it Takes
There’s no set length for how long therapy will take. It’s dependent on many factors including the complexity of the issues involved.
However, the more effort you put in between sessions, the more you will get out of them. And, the quicker the process will be.
Yes, counselling is typically confidential. Counsellors are bound by strict ethical guidelines and laws that require them to keep all client information confidential. This means that anything discussed during counselling sessions, including personal information, feelings, and experiences, is kept private between the counsellor and the client. However, there are some exceptions to confidentiality, such as if the counsellor believes there is a risk of harm to the client or others, or if a court orders the release of information. In such cases, counsellors are required to disclose information to the appropriate authorities. It’s essential to discuss confidentiality policies and any concerns you may have before beginning therapy.
How Often We'll Meet
For the best & quickest results, we’ll meet weekly.
I do not offer monthly sessions.
I don’t offer crisis/emergency services between sessions. I can, however, provide you with a list of emergency helplines who do.
Counselling – £45 for an hour.
Supervision – £50 for an hour. £70 for 90 minutes.
If You Can't Make It
I totally get that life can throw unexpected curveballs your way, and sometimes you may need to cancel your appointment. No worries, I’m not here to make your life harder! That’s why I don’t have a standard cancellation policy in place. If you need to cancel last minute, it’s cool – I won’t charge you as long as it doesn’t become a regular thing. But don’t worry, I won’t just spring it on you. I’ll give you a heads up beforehand.
However, it would be super appreciated if you could give me as much notice as possible. And of course, I’ll do the same for you!
My time’s valuable to me, so I’ll wait for 15 minutes max after the time an appointment should start. If you haven’t shown up or contacted me by this time, I’ll cancel the session.
If this happens, I’ll ask you to pay for the 15 minutes I’ve waited. That’s £11.25 at my current rate, to be paid before I reserve another appointment for you.
So let’s respect eachother’s time.
I’m all about personal empowerment and responsibility, which means I don’t do the whole appointment reminder thing.
It’s all about taking charge of your own life and making things happen. And if you’re serious about making some changes, I know you’ll be on top of your game and show up when we’ve got a session booked.

In addition to in-person counselling, I offer online counselling services as well. These virtual sessions provide a flexible and convenient option for individuals seeking support. Whether it’s due to geographical distance, scheduling constraints, or personal preferences.
Clients should choose a private and quiet location for their sessions, free from potential interruptions or eavesdropping. And, use secure and updated devices, software, and internet connections. Ensuring a secure environment helps protect the confidentiality of the conversation.
How Do You Handle Emergencies or Crises Outside of Sessions?
I do not operate a crisis service. While I can provide information and support, especially regarding mental health resources and guidance, I am not equipped to handle immediate crises or emergencies. If you are in need of urgent assistance, please consider contacting a dedicated crisis helpline or emergency services in your area. These services are staffed by trained professionals who can provide immediate support and assistance during times of crisis. Remember that reaching out for help is an important step, and support is available whenever you need it.
- Samaritans: Available 24/7, Samaritans provides confidential emotional support for anyone in the UK and Ireland who is struggling to cope. You can reach them by calling 116 123 for free, or you can email email@example.com.
- NHS 111: If you need urgent medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation, you can call NHS 111. Trained advisors can provide guidance and connect you with appropriate services.
- C.A.L.M. (Campaign Against Living Miserably): C.A.L.M. is a helpline specifically for men who are feeling down or in crisis. They provide confidential support and information every day from 5 pm to midnight. You can reach them at 0800 58 58 58, or you can use their webchat service.
- Shout: Shout is a crisis text line available 24/7 for anyone in crisis. You can text “SHOUT” to 85258 to connect with a trained crisis volunteer who will provide support and resources via text message.
- Mind Infoline: Mind offers information and support for anyone experiencing a mental health problem. You can contact the Mind Infoline at 0300 123 3393 (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm) or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- The Mix: The Mix provides essential support for under 25s, including a helpline, online chat, and email support. You can call them at 0808 808 4994 (Sunday to Friday, 4 pm to 11 pm), text THEMIX to 85258, or use their online chat service on their website.
- Papyrus HOPELINEUK: Papyrus offers support and practical advice to young people under 35 who are at risk of suicide, as well as to anyone concerned about a young person. - Nightline Association: Nightline provides listening, support, and information to students at universities and colleges across the UK during term time. Each Nightline is run by students, for students. You can find the contact details for your university’s Nightline on their website.
These helplines are staffed by trained volunteers and professionals who can offer confidential support, information, and resources to help you through difficult times. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 999 or go to the nearest emergency room for assistance.
